સ્ટોરીલાઈન:
                 ફિલ્મની સ્ટોરી ‘ઇન ફ્રન્ટ ઓફ ધી ક્લાસ’ પુસ્તક પર આધારિત છે. નૈના માથુર(રાની મુખર્જી)ને બાળપણથી ‘ટોરેટ સિન્ડ્રોમ’ હોય છે જેના કારણે તેને બોલવામાં વારંવાર ‘જા..જા…જા’ અને ‘વા…વા..વા..વા’ જેવા શબ્દોનું ઉચ્ચારણ થઈ જતું હોય છે. આજ કારણોસર તેના નિર્દયી પિતા તેને તરછોડી દે છે. નૈનાને બધા લોકોના મજાકનું ભોગ બનવું પડે છે. નૈનાનું સપનું હોય છે કે તેને ટીચર બનવું છે પરંતુ તેને તેની ખામીના કારણે ઘણી જગ્યાએ નોકરી મળતી નથી પરંતુ અંતે નૈનાને ‘સેન્ટ. નોટકર’ નામની એક સ્કૂલમાં નોકરી મળી જાય છે. નૈનાને તે સ્કૂલમાં 14 વિદ્યાર્થીઓને ભણાવવાની જવાબદારી સોપવામાં આવે છે. તે 14 વિદ્યાર્થીઓ સ્કૂલના શિક્ષકો , તેઓની ગરીબી અને મુશ્કેલીઓ સાથે તથા અન્ય સામંત વિદ્યાર્થીઓ સામે સંઘર્ષ કરી રહ્યા હોય છે. હીચકી ફિલ્મની સ્ટોરી સિમ્પલ છે છતાં પણ ફિલ્મમાં ઘણા ટર્ન અને ટ્વીસ્ટ સાથે મનોરંજક બનાવવામાં આવી છે.
નિર્દેશન અને અભિનય:
             ફિલ્મનું નિર્દેશન સિદ્ધાર્થ પી. મલ્હોત્રાએ કર્યુ છે જેઓએ વર્ષ 2010 માં ‘વિ આર ફેમિલી’ ફિલ્મનું નિર્દેશન કર્યું હતું. સિદ્ધાર્થ પી. મલ્હોત્રાએ ફિલ્મની સ્ટોરીને તેના નિર્દેશન દ્વારા કળાત્મક ન્યાય આપ્યો છે. તેઓએ દરેક પાત્રોની સ્ક્રીનસ્પેસથી લઈને સ્ટોરીનો ફ્લો, લોકેશન તથા સ્ક્રીનપ્લે પર ખાસ ધ્યાન આપી નિર્દેશન કર્યું છે.
            અભિનયની વાત કરવામાં આવે તો ફિલ્મની મુખ્ય અભિનેત્રી રાની મુખર્જીએ છેલ્લે વર્ષ 2014 માં  ‘મર્દાની’ ફિલ્મમાં અભિનય કર્યો હતો. ત્યાર બાદ રાની મુખર્જીએ 4 વર્ષ પછી હિચકી ફિલ્મમાં પણ તેઓએ  તેના દમદાર અભિનય સાથે દર્શકોનું દિલ જીતવામાં સફળ રહયા છે. આ ફિલ્મ મહિલાપ્રધાન ફિલ્મોમાંની એક છે અને રાની મુખર્જીના અભિનયમાં એ જ ઉર્જા, ઉત્સાહ ઉપરાંત નવીનતા જોવા મળે છે જે દર્શકોને મનોરંજન પૂરું પાડે છે. આ ઉપરાંત સહ કલાકારો સુપ્રિયા અને સચિન પીલ્ગાવકાર, હર્ષ મયાર, અસીફ બસરાએ તેઓને મળેલા પાત્રોને ધ્યાનમાં લઈને ખૂબ જ ઉમદા અભિનય કર્યો છે.
સંગીત અને સંવાદો:
              ફિલ્મમાં સંગીત જસ્લીન રોયલે આપ્યું છે તથા બેકગ્રાઉન્ડ સ્કોર હિતેશ સોનીકે આપ્યો છે. ફિલ્મના ગીતો ‘ખોલ દે પર..’ તથા ‘ઓય હિચકી..’ દર્શકોને પસંદ આવી રહ્યા છે. ફિલ્મમાં બધા ગીતો સ્ટોરીને ધ્યાનમાં લઈને તથા પરિસ્થિતિ અનુરૂપ છે જે સમય જતા દર્શકોના મગજ માંથી જતા રહેશે પરંતુ સંગીત નબળું નથી, સંગીત સ્ટોરીને ન્યાય આપતું જણાય છે.
          
           ફિલ્મમાં સંવાદો અંકુર ચૌધરીએ લખ્યા છે જે ખુબ જ દમદાર તથા દર્શકોની સંવેદનાઓને ફિલ્મ સાથે જોડે છે અને સ્ટોરીને રસપ્રદ બનાવે છે.
ફિલ્મમાં હકારત્મક મુદ્દા:
(1) ફિલ્મની અલગ સ્ટોરી 
(2) નિર્દેશન
(3) સ્ક્રીનપ્લે 
(4) રાની મુખર્જીનો અભિનય 
ફિલ્મમાં નકારાત્મક મુદ્દા: 
(1) સ્લો સ્ટોરીલાઈન (છતાં મનોરંજક બનાવવાનો ઉમદા પ્રયત્ન)
(2) સ્ટોરીને ન્યાય આપવાના પ્રયાસમાં સ્ટોરી થોડી અવાસ્તવિક બનતી જણાય છે.
સારાંશ :
          એક પ્રેરણાદાયક ફિલ્મ જે લોકોને શીખવાડે છે કે સંઘર્ષ કરવાથી સફળતા મળે જ છે. આ ફિલ્મ જોવાના દર્શકો માટે ઘણા કારણો છે જેમકે રાની મુખર્જીનો અભિનય, બાળકો માટે તથા વાલીઓ માટે પ્રેરણારૂપ સ્ટોરીલાઈન અને જો સપ્તાહમાં એક સરળ તેમજ હલ્કી મનોરંજક ફિલ્મ નિહાળવી હોય તો હિચકી બેસ્ટ વિકલ્પ છે.
