86th Indian Air Force Day

Indian Air Force (IAF) is all set for the 86th Air Force Day Parade, 2018. The IAF day will be observed on 8th of October. Our Airforce is the 4^th largest in the world with a force of 1,27,000 employees. Also, Indian Air force has the best fighter forces and helicopters like SV-30MKI, Mirage 2000, MIG-29, MIG-21, HAL Tejas, Dhruv, cheetah, MI-8, MI-17, MI-26, MI-25/35, Hal Light Combat helicopter, Hal Rudra.

“Touch the sky with Glory”, the catchphrase of Indian Air Force has been taken from the Bhagavad-Gita. True to the catchphrase, our Indian Air Force aims to overwhelm its opponent with sophisticated aviation.

India Air Force has proven their best on every platform, whether it is World War II or Kargil war, they have given their blood and sweat to consummate victory. Besides the wars, our Indian Air Force has also given their contribution to Kerala floods and other natural calamities, like Badrinath.

The Air Force Day is celebrated in a different way in different units. Firstly, the celebration begins with the parade by the Air Force Cadets, thereafter there is Oath Taking Ceremony, followed by a rifle drill with a musical band performing on the best of its tune. Skydiving takes place by two teams of IAF. There is the Akash Ganga Team and the Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team, also known as SKAT in short. The Air Show for an audience is conducted with various Jewels of the Air Force Fleet like the C-17 Globe master III, Dolphin leap by Sarang Helicopter aerobatic team and many more Air Jewels on the display. Later, the fighter planes and other equipment, used in the war are on display in the exhibition so that the spectators can have a closer look and feel proud of the brave hearts. This schedule is followed strictly with complete decorum maintained at a high level by each one of the Defence Personnel.

Last year, it was celebrated very elegantly starting with the troop parading the grounds of Air Base Hindon, near Delhi. The adventure loaded Air Show and other interesting events took place here. After the usual parade ceremony, there was a Musical Band Presentation by the Air Force Band, the best performers in India. Thereafter, a show by Air Show left the spectators excited and awestruck. Finally at the end, the first indigenous fifth-generation fighter plane of India – LCA Tejas came into the show. Kudos to DRDO and IAF for building the pride of the nation called Tejas. It shows great technical abilities of our engineering team and creative abilities being put to the best, to develop technology and not depend on foreign countries for buying the jet fighters and other planes.

As the Indian Air Force prepares to celebrate its 86th anniversary, the men and women of IAF are ready for the ceremonial parade as the part of celebrations at Air Force Station, Hindan. The cadets at IAF have been toiling hard for the last two months towards the preparation of this grand affair. This year, the Central Air Command will celebrate the 86^th anniversary of Indian Air Force with same enthusiasm and pride at various Air Stations all over the country on the 8^th of October.
