Uri- The Surgical Strike released on 11th January. Aditya Dhar with Uri made a debut in Bollywood, with RSVP movies under Ronnie Screwvala. This movie has strong actors who carried out powerful roles. The movie starring Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina, Yami Gautam, as the name suggests, is based on the 2016 Surgical Strike, undertaken by Indian Army in parts of Kashmir occupied by Pakistan, with revenge being the trigger.
The movie is undoubtedly an action movie with the story revolving around Major Vihaan Singh Shergill and his dilemma whether to look after his mother or mother Nation. From taking up a desk job to realizing he isn’t suited for it, the movie keeps the audience waiting for Vicky Kaushal to get back to action.
Just when you think that you have understood the characters, Aditya Dhar managed to bring in twists, showcasing a pinch of life of the valiant heroes of the country. Dhar was indeed successful in making the audience travel from one peak of emotion to another, be it holding their hearts as to what was going to happen next to the emotional scenes.
The scenes like that of interrogation, the planning and preparation of the strikes, the techno-savvy intern helping out the Army, lent a hand building an even stronger storyline. The powerful dialogues from the movie somehow managed to wake up the patriot inside you. There is a growing sense of suspense everytime someone wears the glowing glasses. You know that there’s a mission to take place and that starts building tension in the minds of the audience.
Not forgetting to mention Vicky Kaushal. He with his leadership capabilities had portrayed himself as a perfect Army Man. With his sturdy physicality filled with determination, he has managed to draw the audience attention towards him, from start to finish. On the other hand, Yami Gautam and Kirit Kulhari have portrayed the roles of Intelligent officer and skilled Air Force Pilot.
Mitesh Mirchandani needs to be appreciated for his terrific sense of cinematography. The scenes and shots that have been used in the film have put the audience in awe for most of the film. The aerial shots do not fail to mesmerize the audience, be it at the start or in between the film. The lighting and the angles of shots keeps the audience focused on the target.
If you are a war, strategy and action-fanatic, this movie is highly recommended. You also get an insight into the roles played by Indian bureaucrats while taking highly confidential decisions. Watch this movie if nothing, for Vicky Kaushal and the undeniably good cinematography. This movie will definitely leave you paying huge respects to each and every Defence personnel who has and is contributing by guarding this nation to let the citizens sleep peacefully at night.
