As the most awaited ICC cricket world cup is about to start, all eyes are on the nations and players who are going to participate in the world cup. It’s been long waiting for tiring four years and players are ready for the war on the pitches. .No other sport can boost the level of excitement than the cricket world cup.

World Cup is the premiere of one-day cricket and is the most awaited sports event, as it is held at four years’ interval. The first world cup was held in the year 1975 at England, as a series of one-day matches of 60 overs. Later on, in 1987, the overs were reduced to 50 per side. In the eleven tournaments held so far, Australia has been the team that has won the tournament for maximum years. i. e. five times. It is also the team that has won the tournament for three consecutive years i. e. 1999, 2003, and 2007. India has won the tournament two times. (1983 and 2011).

The 12th edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be hosted by England and Wales from 30th May to 14th July 2019. The tournament will have 10 teams playing with all the teams once and the top four of them progressing towards the semi-finals. The Indian cricket team is ready for the tournament with a balanced team of batsmen, bowlers and all rounder’s strong unit led by the charisma of the Captain-Virat Kohli. With the successful tours from past one year and powerful performances by the players in IPL, the players are ready to showcase their power pack performances.

As the players are shedding their sweat while preparing for the world cup, the advertisers are also ready to launch their ad campaigns for the tournament. Media rights holder Star India has already signed 35 advertisers already and has sold 60% of the ad inventory. The company is hopeful of selling 90% of the overall inventory by the end of this month. The world cup also has an impact on the economy of the hosting country.
